I am specifically going to talk about this piece, which I could not find the artist who did the work (The website is in german. oweee). I love the concept for something as prevalent in our lives as war, being created out of a material that won't last. I also see a correlation of why war is inherently in all of us- a fight for power because of our egotism. The balloons are expanded to create a weapon of destruction- the tank. But when the balloons are deflated, the tank is gone. Behind our power hungry masks, we are weak and afraid. We are nothing. It is an especially nice touch that children played with the art piece and destroyed its dying remains. Quite the juxtaposition.
